Men’s Warehouse Support Swett Warrior Weekend

The support Swett & Crawford received during Swett Warrior Weekend was incredible. One of our partners, Men’s Warehouse, came forward and was able to give back in a way none of us will ever forget. When they first heard about the weekend and the black tie Gala, they immediately offered complimentary tuxedos to some of the veterans. In addition, they offered a significant discount to all of our Gala attendees including veterans, men & women currently serving our country, and even Swett & Crawford employees. They were also able to bring the tuxedos directly to the hotel for easy delivery and fittings for the guests. Thank you again to Men’s Warehouse for their hospitality and generosity.

Operation Gratitude’s March to a Million

The joy that this organization spreads through their care packages is remarkable and something that the men and women who serve our country never forget. On December 7, 2013, they will assemble and celebrate their One Millionth Care Package! This accomplishment is a testament to the tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and sponsors nation-wide who have contributed their time, heart and resources as their way of saying “Thank You” to the brave men and women wearing our nation’s uniform.

After its unforgettable commissioning at New York Harbor, the USS Michael Murphy has been safely stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This brand new 510-foot warship was named after a Navy Seal who lost his life in Afghanistan in 2005. Our friends aboard the ship have been busy since their stationing and are keeping us updated through their newsletter.

In researching Courage in America: Warriors with Character, I observed the powerful support of caregivers and the families of these warriors, were most effective, by helping warriors’ complete their rehabilitation with amazing patience and empathy.

Gary Sinise Attends and Performs at the Swett Warrior Gala

SSgt Herman Lubbe’s Incredible Progress at San Antonio Medical Center

Congratulations to SSgt Herman Lubbe, USMC, for his incredible progress during his treatment at the San Antonio Medical Center. The care and rehabilitation he has been receiving from this hospital’s Center for the Intrepid has allowed Herman to run for the first time in nearly two years. This state of the art facility is designed to treat burn victims and amputees, specifically those who served in the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan.

Ratzenberger is best known for playing the iconic bar character Cliff Clavin on the sitcom Cheers.
